The government is defending its decision to impose a state of emergency in the country in 2011. National Security Minister, Gary Griffith, made the comment as he responded to a question on the Order Paper in the Senate.
Minister Griffith described the S.O.E. as a success, adding it helped reduce murders, recover illegal firearms and obtain vital security intelligence information.
Minister Griffith said in the future if the measure is required it will be done again.
