Minister of National Security Gary Griffith has commended officers involved in a large drug hall over the weekend.
On Sunday, 13 packets of compressed marijuana weighing 152 kg, and with an estimated street value of $1.5 million were seized by police.
Minister Griffith was high in praises of all the agencies that were involved in the operation.
He also commented on the decrease in serious crime in 2014.
While comparing this year’s figures to previous years, the Minister revealed that he was very happy that there had been a marked improvement in the fight against serious crime this year.
Minister Griffith lamented the lack of appreciation for officers who put their lives on the line daily to protect the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.
He also spoke about improvements in security for 2015.
