National Security Minister Says Prison Officers’ Concerns Are Not Being Ignored.

Minister of National Security, Edmund Dillon, told the parliament that on November 2nd, 2017 a contingent of twenty-five prison officers visited the Canadian Embassy pursuing information with regard to the procedure on how to seek asylum in Canada.

In October two prison officers were killed while another officer’s vehicle was shot at near his home in early November

Minister Dillon said the Ministry of National Security is mindful of the concerns of these and other law enforcement officers and is committed to treating with their safety and security.
