Public Services Association President Watson Duke in a media conference hosted at the union’s Abercromby Street headquarters this morning revealed that overdue negotiations between the CPO and his union for some 33 thousand public servants, will take place on Friday.
Mr. Duke said on December 10th 2014 he received a counter proposal from the CPO addressing revised terms of employment and conditions of service for civil servants employed in the statutory service.
He said while the union is thankful for the revised proposal, public servants continue to be affected by high inflation.
On the issue of further demonstrations and public shut downs, Mr. Duke cast blame directly on the government, explaining that his union nor the members of the union, were ever at fault for such incidents.
