With his wife set to give birth in approximately three months, Kenneth Petty- the husband of rapper Nicki Minaj, has reportedly asked a judge to adjust the terms of his pretrial release. According to TMZ, Petty wants to be present at his wife’s side when she gives birth.
Currently free on bond as he awaits trial for failing to register as a sex offender in California where they now reside, Petty is required to stay in California and obey a curfew, but he is seeking permission to travel with his wife on business, serving as her manager, so he can be present when she goes into labour, according to court papers obtained by TMZ.
A ruling has yet to be made. Petty’s present day woes stem from a New York rape conviction in 1995 for which he served time in prison.
