There have been no arrests yet in the murder of the son of Snr Supt Michael Roban.
25-year-old Magdiel Roban was killed on Saturday in Laventille.
Snr Supt Roban has stated that officers received a list of names by people in the area, of possible suspects who may have carried the act and were up to yesterday evening trying to identify the potential suspects.
Around 10 a.m. on Saturday the deceased was walking along a track at Pierna Drive, with a six-year-old boy, when they were approached by two gunmen.
The men asked Roban who he was and before he could answer one of them pulled out a firearm and shot him in the upper body, killing him instantly.
Snr Supt Roban, who is on pre-retirement leave, was head of the Port of Spain Division up to a few months ago.
Investigations are continuing.
