This is according to the Meteorological Office of Trinidad and Tobago.
Some panic ensued yesterday as messages were shared via social messaging platforms that a Hurricane was making its way to T&T.
It advised citizens to brace for Hurricane activity by the end of the week.
Speaking with News Power Now this morning, Meteorologist Kiron Sedoo revealed that this was in fact not based on factual information.
A media release issued by the Met Office explained that the centre of an area of low pressure associated with an active Tropical Wave was located east of the Windward Islands.
Sedoo disclosed that the Met Office was monitoring the system that was expected to affect Trinidad.
