Minister of Public Utilities, Marvin Gonzales, says members of staff at WASA are not being held accountable for their actions.
He made the comment while speaking on the Power Breakfast Show this morning.
Minister Gonzales was commenting on the management shakeup at the company, which he announced yesterday.
WASA Chairman Dr. Lennox Sealy will replace Acting Chief Executive Officer at the Water and Sewage Authority, Allan Poon King
Minister Gonzales noted that the management change at WASA is hopefully the start of a transformational change, which could eventually see employees being held accountable and non-performers being dealt with.
Minister Gonzales said while there are no planned job cuts at this time, the company does seem to have an issue with its staffing structure.
However he said a comprehensive HR audit will determine the way forward
Meanwhile, Minister Gonzales also told News Power Now of the plans to address infrastructural issues, which the company faces such as water leaks.
