At this time, government says it is not considering any plans to cancel carnival in 2015 in light of the Ebola outbreak that has struck West Africa.
Confirmation of this comes from Health Minister, Dr. Fuad Khan.
Speaking at a news briefing on Friday, Dr. Khan explained that the cabinet continues to closely monitor the spread of the virus.
Admitting that at carnival time there is an increase in the movement of travelers, Dr. Khan assured the situation will be constantly monitored.
Dr. Khan said the Health Ministry will liaise with international agencies and take note of various measures they have adopted to address the challenge.
