No Requirement for Muslims to Bank Money, Says Minister.

by | Dec 13, 2019 | 1 comment

Minister of National Security, Stuart Young, says there is no requirement for members of the Muslim community to open an account and put their money into the banking system.

He gave the update while speaking to reporters at the weekly post cabinet news briefing held at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann’s this afternoon.

Minister Young said the Central Bank will accommodate persons who are not aligned to any commercial bank but wished to exchange their current 100 notes for the new polymer notes.

Mr Young assured citizens that the move by the government was not a last minute decision.

So what about non muslims that don’t want their money in a banking institution? Money that they saved up over the years. Are they shielded as well?
