Chaguanas West Member of Parliament, Jack Warner, has said the controversial Centre of Excellence is not for sale.
Mr. Warner was responding to a newspaper report which said CONCACAF is challenging his claim to ownership of the popular Tunapuna facility.
The former CONCACAF president said he was told by his friends in Government that this is just the beginning of many attacks to be leveled against him, to discredit him as a person and “as a threat to the political landscape”.
Mr. Warner said he was the told by some of his ministers that the contents of the newspaper articles was the subject of discussion in Cabinet only last Thursday.
As it relates to the caveats filed, Mr. Warner said both CONCACAF and FIFA have unlimited funding and they can spend their money as they wish.
He added it was frightening that the local press could be influenced by the Attorney General.
