NP suspends more staff members with pay…

NP Trinidad National Petroleum (NP) has suspended more employees without pay.

This is according to a media release from the company on Monday evening.

On Friday, the company said, based on initial reports, it had suspended over 40 staff members with pay.

However, as investigations continue, it said additional employees have now been suspended with pay, all pending further investigation.

The company did not say how many more employees have been suspended.

On August 13, 14 and 15, the Oilfields Workers’ Trade Union (OWTU) engaged its members in an illegal work stoppage at NP’s gantries, the company said.

Meantime, in spite of strike action, NP assures citizens fuel is being delivered to service stations and its industrial customers across the country.
