The National Petroleum and Marketing Company (NP) have signaled its intention to appeal an Industrial Court ruling that reinstated 68 workers who were dismissed last year.
The 68 workers were dismissed after they participated in what the company maintained were illegal work stoppages and industrial action.
NP said it does not believe that the rationale for the decision takes into account all the factors that constitute good industrial relations.
NP said acted in the best interests of the company and of the country, maintaining that it acted in accordance with professional industrial relations practices.
The Industrial Court ordered that NP rehire the employees with full benefits and pay $40,000 each in damages.
