The Officer in charge of the Office of Disaster and Preparedness and Management, Cpt. Neville Wint in response to this morning’s nationwide traffic build said they are currently investigating what would have caused the problem.
During a News Power Now interview this morning, Cpt. Wint said the management of the roadways falls under the purview of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, but he believes some level of coordination can be strategized under the ODPM, when severe conditions are presented.
Cpt. Wint also said he could not deny or confirm whether the body found on the Beetham Highway on Tuesday was the root cause of the traffic.
Meanwhile, the ODPM boss said in light of the existing hurricane season, he is advising citizens to be vigilant and continue to take heed when advised by both the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management, and the Meteorological Office of Trinidad and Tobago.
