One business association is condemning the actions of police officers who have been conducting road block exercises across both Trinidad and Tobago from as early as 6 o’clock this morning.

A traffic situation many have described as unbearable has led to low productivity levels across the country, this as workers from various sectors have been inhibited as a result of commute restrictions.

Head of the Downtown Owners and Merchants Association, Gregory Aboud however says productivity levels are the least of his concerns at this time. Mr. Aboud said Police officers have betrayed the public by their actions today.

Mr. Aboud said the seriousness of the situation showed itself in more ways than one.

Highlighting that various sectors of society suffer from the every man for himself syndrome, the Business association head called for this doctrine to stop.

I FULLY SUPPORT WHAT THE POLICE HAVE DONE! OUR ROADS ARE SAFE. THE BUSINESSES IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR MAY BE AFFECTED BUT THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND THAT NOT ONLY THE BIG BUSINESS MEN MUST HAVE THEIR SAY IN THIS COUNTRY!!! WE ALL IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR MUST BE RESPECTED AND GRANTED OUR ENTITLEMENTS EQUALLY! THIS IS NOT A GAME. THIS IS SERIOUS BUSINESS, SO TAKE US SERIOUSLY BECAUSE YOU THE GOVERNMENT ARE “NOTHING” WITHOUT US. (MANY PARTS, ONE BODY).
