Amid outcry by the Banking Insurance and General Workers Union over what they say is the unfair retrenchment of some 33 employees of the One Caribbean Media Group- of which the Trinidad Express and CCN TV6 are apart, there are counter claims that all employees within the group were informed of the possibility of retrenchment since 2012.
In a News Power Now interview this morning, OCM Group Corporate Executive Services Spokesperson, Gregory Camejo said the company has been investing in technological developments that would have led to this present situation.
He sought to correct reports that retrenchment letters were distributed to employees last week Friday.
He noted that formal notice of 45 days was given to employees, only yesterday.
Mr. Camejo assured that employees’ severance benefits will be honored.
The senior OCM executive told News Power Now that those who’ve received letters amassed varying lengths of tenure within the organization.
