Operations state electricity company called into question

AncelRogetThe Oilfields Workers Trade Union (O.T.W.U.) has delivered a letter to the Minister of Public Utilities to highlight their concerns about the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC).

Minister Nizam Baksh was not present when the trade union visited his office.

Speaking with reporters after their delivery, OWTU President General, Ancel Roget, said stalled wage negotiations and health and safety are at the top of their agenda.

Mr. Roget also alleged that Government officials are instructing the management of T&TEC and other state companies to fire workers who participated in the recent anti-government march.

He said that workers were only standing up for their rights.
