Member of Parliament for Oropouche East, Dr Roodal Moonilal is today calling for the Minister of National Security to come clean on information concerning the recent drug bust.
Police arrested four people, including a woman once connected to the Minister of National Security, Stuart Young, during a major drug bust in Regents Gardens, Westmoorings on Tuesday.
Police raided the apartment at the gated community around midday and the suspects – two men and two women – were caught packing what appeared to cocaine.
The four suspects were subsequently arrested.
In a release issued directly after the apprehensions Minister Young distanced himself saying that he had no relation or connection to the woman arrested.
He instead described her as the relative of a former partner.
Speaking with News Power Now on Thursday, Dr Moonilal stated he understood that the arrest put the Minister in a precarious position.
However, he said it is imperative that the Minister Young inform the public whether or not he had prior knowledge of the individual being involved in that type of activity.
