A request from the opposition for crime in the country, especially murders, to be debated as a matter of urgent public importance was not accommodated by the Vice President of the Senate this afternoon.

The motion was a raised by Opposition Senator, Wade Mark who said that reports indicate that so far this year there have been twenty –eight murders.

He claimed that the government has failed to address mounting concern and wide spread fear of citizens.

However, the Opposition request was not granted by the Senate Vice President.
