She stated that the facility did not meet Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) requirements.
Cudjoe said the Forensic Science Centre plays a critical role in the Administration of Justice (Deoxyribonucleic Acid) Bill being effective.
She also disclosed that one pathologist Valery Alexandrov had been speaking out on the conditions at the Center for some time now.
She said that the Trinidad and Tobago Forensic Science Centre was critical and central to the execution and the whole administration and the implementation and effectiveness of the entire piece of legislation.
Cudjoe stated that especially because of its importance upgrade need to be addressed.
She further stated that Alexandrov spoke out against the working hours at the Forensic Science Centre, claiming that the Institution did not meet international standards.
Cudjoe said among the issues at the facility that needed to be addressed were, inadequate ventilation systems, mould in the cupboards of the DNA department because of humidity and inadequate storage of human remains.
