Opposition Senator, Attorney at Law Wayne Sturge

Newly appointed Opposition Senator, Attorney at Law Wayne Sturge, speaking on the manner in which Attorney General, Faris Al-Rawi was served election petition papers, said the AG refused accepting the document on many occasion and this was the only time he deemed it necessary to have him served.

Speaking on the Power Breakfast Show this morning, Sturge said an apology was sent to the family of the late People’s National Movement Government Minister, Errol Mahabir for having the incident portrayed at his funeral.

When asked if there was another day and time to have the papers served to the Attorney General, Sturge said that is was a judgement call and was within the law.
