Speaking on the platform at the People’s National Movement Family and Fun day on Sunday May 26th; Opposition Leader, Dr. Keith Rowley said he will be asking CARICOM to supply the country with observers to oversee affairs during the 2015 General Election.
Dr. Rowley said he believes this measure will ensure that the election will be one that is not bias and clear
of any tampering.

Political Analyst, Ralph Maharaj is not in agreement with the Opposition Leader’s decision to have CARICOM observers for the 2015 General Elections. Marahaj said by doing this we will still be viewed as a ‘third world’ nation and not as strong and fearless as Trinidad and Toabgo has been known to be regarding political affairs.

Meanwhile… Opposition Senator and Public Relations Officer of the PNM, Faris Al Wari said it will take nothing of the Prime Minister within her power to agree to having CARICOM observers during the General Elections. Senator Al Wari said there is nothing unusual by this move but rather the Government’s opposition towards this sends a troubling message to the citizenry
