The group United Public Officers has provided several recommendations it believes can bring about a resolution to the legal issues surrounding the Public Services Association election which was scheduled for today.
PSA Fixers filed an injunction to stop the election citing alleged irregularities to the voters list prepared by the union’s elections committee.
The group is also contending that in early October a decision was taken by the general council of the PSA to allow members with dues to be allowed to vote if they clear their arrears before the election.
However, United Public Officers Head, Oral Saunders speaking at a media briefing this afternoon proposed that the court, an independent mediator, chart the way forward.
He says it’s important that action be taken that will ensure union members benefit and cut down the union’s legal costs.
These are among the four separate teams vying for control of the PSA.
