Over 100 schools meet to discuss urgent issues such as discipline and supervision

The Education Ministry reveals that over one hundred of the one hundred and twenty-five secondary schools’ principals heeded a call by Minister Anthony Garcia to discuss urgent matters affecting the secondary school system.

The meeting, held at the Government Campus Plaza Auditorium was chaired by the Chief Education Officer Harrilal Seecharan.

It focused on the areas of School Based Management, Promoting Discipline in Schools and Clinical Supervision.

At the meeting a strong call was made to enhance the systems in place at schools to ensure proper supervision of students.

Recommendations were put forward for improvements in and out of the classroom.

Principals had the opportunity to air questions, concerns and comments that they felt needed responses at this time.

Following the meeting Minister Garcia said he felt confident that the objective of the meeting was achieved.
