Over 600 firearms have been seized by the Police Service to date in its fight against crime.

The revelation comes from Acting Police Commissioner, Stephen Williams.

Speaking at a media briefing Mr Williams said the figure this year surpasses the amount of illegal firearms retrieved by officers in 2014.

Meanwhile, the Police Service is also reporting a drop in serious crimes in the country.

However, the Acting Commissioner explained that the service is still concern about the number of murders.
