Education and Research Officer of the Oilfields Workers Trade Union, Ozzie Warwick, says allegations made in the parliament by Opposition Member of Parliament for Oropouche East, Dr Roodal Moonilal, are unfounded.

During his contribution to the Budget Debate in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Dr. Moonilal gave details relating to alleged money wire transfers, secret meetings and signing of documents surrounding the sale of the Pointe-a-Pierre to the OWTU.

Dr. Moonilal also provided alleged details with respect to Sunstone Equity of Suriname, which he claims, is providing the OWTU with financial support for a multi-billion dollar bid for the refinery.

However, speaking with News Power Now on Wednesday afternoon, Mr. Warwick strongly refuted the claims made by the Opposition MP.

Mr. Warwick said the OWTU will reveal more on the issue at a news briefing on Thursday at 9am.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister, Colm Imbert, during the Budget Debate, offered a stinging response to the claims made by Dr. Moonilal.
