Parents urged to take their responsibilities more seriously…

Pastor Cecil Quamina

Chaconia Medal Silver recipient for religion, Pastor Cecil Quamina, is calling on parents to take their responsibility as provider, caregiver and guidance counselors more seriously.

Pastor Quamina, who was presented with his medal at the 51st Independence Anniversary, National Awards Ceremony on Saturday, at the Southern Academy for the Performing Arts, San Fernando, said as the nation looked for ways to address the crime situation in Trinidad and Tobago, parents must acknowledge they have the greatest role to play.

He urged them not to become complacent and take their job for granted, as nurturing and guiding were critical to children’s development.

Pastor Quamina, who is attached to the First Church of the Open Bible, San Fernando, also noted that spirituality was another area which should not be pushed on the back burner.
