Dr Valerie Alexandrov, pathologist at the Forensic Science Centre in St James, is back on the job.
On Tuesday, Dr. Alexandrov walked out of the building, complaining of being overworked.
Saying that he was frustrated, as he was the only pathologist on staff with two on the job trainees for assistance, Dr Alexandrov called for someone to be held responsible for the staff shortage at the centre.
Dr Alexandrov, who has been working at the Forensic Science Centre for the past six years, and working without a contract since 2012, said that he could no longer work under those conditions.
Today, speaking with the media, he revealed that meetings were held with the Minister of National Security, who assured that the situation would be addressed.
Mr Alexandrov noted that he will hold on for perhaps 6 months, to give the ministry the necessary time to screen and hire additional staff.
