Persons arrested, pistol and ammunition retrieved by Northern Division Task Force on Tuesday

Officers attached to the Northern Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise arrested five persons, and retrieved a pistol, a quantity of ammunition and a bulletproof vest in Arima.

The exercise was conducted between 4am and 8am on Tuesday, during which a search warrant was executed at a house at Sherwood Park.

A search of the house resulted in the arrest of 22-year-old man of Pinto Road, Arima, a 23-year-old and a 26-year-old male both of Lucknow Street, St. James, an 18-year-old female of Orchid Lane, La Horquetta and a 26-year-old man of Jean Lane, Arima, who were in the house at the time of the exercise, were arrested in connection with the find.

Officers then proceeded to a bushy area in Sherwood Park, where they found one black Smith and Wesson pistol, loaded with a magazine, containing 12 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

No arrests were made in connection with the find.
