PM leaves for New York

Kamla Indepen 2012Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, is expected to leave the country tomorrow to attend the 69th United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York.

Mrs. Persad Bissessar is also expected to attend and participate in a number of other events.

The Prime Minister will be accompanied by several members of the Government – the Minister of Trade, Industry, Investment and Communications, Senator Vasant Bharath, Minister of Planning and Sustainable Development, Senator Bhoendradatt Tewarie and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Winston Dookeran.

Minister of National Diversity and Social Integration, Rodger Samuel will also attend selected events as well as Finance Minister, Senator Larry Howai and Minister of Energy and Energy Affairs, Senator Kevin Ramnarine.

Errol Mc Leod will act as Prime Minister during the absence of Mrs. Persad-Bissessar.

The Prime Minister is expected to return on Wednesday 1st October.
