The recent meeting between Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley and Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar was based on who can gain more political mileage.

Making this comment was Political Leader of the Democratic Party of Trinidad and Tobago, Steve Alvarez.

Speaking earlier today with Andy Johnson here on Power 102.1fm, Mr. Alvarez voiced concern that the issues affecting the country were not effectively discussed, adding that there should be more of a focus on the economy for the short as well as long-term.

The DPTT leader also stressed that this country can’t continue to borrow without finding a way to pay back.
