The update comes after several persons died as a result of an 8.2 magnitude earthquake in Chile on Tuesday that was felt in Panama.

The Prime Minister and her delegation were alerted of the earthquake on Tuesday night and the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) kept the team updated with information.

Panama was under tsunami watch, but that was lifted on Tuesday night.

Prime Minister Persad-Bissessar is attending the World Economic Forum in Panama and returns to Trinidad on Thursday night.
