PM Says Competing Is Over, As Plans Materialize to Reintroduce TTT.

PM Says Competing Is Over, As Plans Materialize to Reintroduce TTT.

Prime Minister, Dr. Keith Rowley says the plan to restore Trinidad and Tobago Television (TTT), would be best served if it were run by the state.

Speaking at a function, Prime Minister Rowley said this would stymie the flow of millions of dollars out of the country, which has been experienced during the CNMG’s existence. The Prime Minister explained that cabinet has decided to stop competing with radio and television stations in areas such as news and current affairs, noting that there are some 25 private sector radio stations and a number of television stations.

The government’s decision, he said, was centered around a desire to re-create a platform for the sustenance and development of national culture, art and information.
