The People’s National Movement is today making it clear that it is following the rules set out by the Trinidad and Tobago Debates Commission the Opposition’s approach was underscored.
On the heels of news that the Debates Commission has postponed the date of the leader’s debate with a new date yet to be established, PNM party Chairman Franklin Khan, this morning during an interview with The Power Breakfast Show on Power 102.1fm said the debates commission is not run by any of the political entities and as such, the PNM is following its rules.
He said the July 30th date initially set was not agreed to by the People’s National Movement.

The UNC debates negotiator, Larry Lalla says he cannot understand why the Debates Commission would postpone the date of the leader’s debate.
Also speaking on the Power Breakfast show this morning, Mr. Lalla said the date had been fixed by the debates commission.
Contesting the move, Mr. Lalla said it is in the interest of the national public to have the debate on July 30th.
