The People’s National Movement’s screening Committee has found itself at the center the receptors of ire from supporters of various political candidates who were denied the opportunity to represent various areas throughout the country.
While the Screening Committee has been under scrutiny, General Secretary of the People’s National Movement Ashton Ford has revealed that contrary to popular belief, this is not the first time the Committee found itself in such a position.
He was speaking on the Power Breakfast Morning Show on Power 102.1fm this morning.
Mr. Ford referred to Diego Martin Central incumbent Dr. Amery Browne’s failure to impress any of the 18 members of the PNM’s screening committee at Balisier House, Port-of-Spain, on April 3.
He revealed that Mr. Brown did not receive a single vote from the executives.
Mr. Ford stated that while there may be the perception that because of the issues some may have had with the screening committee it no longer has backing, there is still a lot of support for the candidates that have been chosen.
