Point Fortin Mayor, Abdon Mason, describes as amicable a meeting he had today with the Rural Development and Local Government Minister and other officials of the Ministry and the Chief Executive Officer of the Point Fortin Borough Corporation, Donna-May Taylor.

The meeting comes on the heels of the recent filing of a no-confidence motion by Mayor Mason against the CEO.

He did not want to go into details as to what factors triggered the motion.

However, an article carried in the Newsday newspaper last Saturday claimed that the CEO failed to carry out legal directives of the Corporation and further alleged that the CEO was taking unilateral decisions without consulting the Council and this has severely affected the delivery of service to burgesses.

Mayor Mason said he will discuss the outcome of today’s meeting with the council before determining the next course of action.
