POLICE COMPLAINTS AUTHORITY DISCONTINUES INVESTIGATIONS INTO ALLEGED FLYING SQUAD REPORT

stephen williamsThere is no ongoing investigation into the alleged leaking of documents relative to the flying squad report, at least not by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.

Two weeks ago, Opposition senator Faris Al Rawi brought documents to the Senate alleging that they were related to the flying squad report.

Since then there has been several calls for an investigation into how Mr. Al Rawi obtained the documents.

However, Acting Commissioner of Police, Stephen Williams said there is no requirement for an investigation.

One of the persons calling for an investigation into the leak is Attorney General Anand Ramlogan.

Mr. Ramlogan in a statement said the leaking of the information is paramount to treason. However, the acting commissioner said there has been no indication of such.
