The Police Complaints Authority confirms it has not received any official complaint as yet from any of the detainees held under the anti-gang legislation during the state of emergency who were freed by the courts.

Last week Thursday 21 individuals charged under the legislation were freed after the Director of Public Prosecution reportedly told the Magistrate there was insufficient evidence to move ahead with charges brought against them.

PCA Director, Gillian Lucky, in an interview on the matter said even though the matter is in the public domain there are conditions under which the Authority can probe issues relating to misconduct by police officers.
