Police investigatingPolice have detained a 38 year old man from Coconut Drive in Morvant, after he was found with a semi-automatic pistol and ammunition.

The said man was reportedly presented on Sunday as one of the Independent Liberal Party’s (ILP) candidates for the October 21st Local Government election.

According to a police report, officers from the North/Eastern Division Task Force led by Inspector Roger Alexander received a tip-off that a man in a white panel van, which was proceeding along Lady Young Road, Morvant, was in possession of an illegal firearm, following a shooting incident in the Central Division.
