A brazen robbery at the Piarco International Airport this morning has commanded the attention of police. Four men are said to have escaped with millions of dollars after robbing a security vehicle at the airport’s Tarmac.
Initial news reports coming to hand, suggest the amount stolen is $5 million.
News Power Now has learnt that the men were dressed in camouflage clothing and committed the robbery at around 11am as the security vehicle waited for the cargo cart to arrive. As it arrived however, the masked men, armed with what reports state appeared to be high powered weapons exited a waiting vehicle and forced the security guards to lay on the ground. They then fled the scene with the loot.
Reports indicate that a black Toyota Hilux has been found in the Oropune Gardens area by investigating officers. They believe the vehicle was that used to commit the crime. No arrests have been made.
