Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mervyn Richardson, assures law enforcement will spare no efforts to find the killer of Maracas, St Joseph, Attorney-at-Law, Wesley Debideen, who was shot to death at Grand Bazaar on Tuesday.
Police said Debideen was ambushed by a gunman around 3:45 pm while exiting the mall.
DCP Richardson says he has requested of the head of homicide region one, not to spare anything in bringing this case to a successful conclusion.
68 year old Debideen, also a medical doctor, and brother of Magistrate Brian Debideen, was in his vehicle approaching the northern exit when he was ambushed by the gunman in a red Mazda 323.
The gunman is said to have fired several shots through Debideen’s windshield.
He then reportedly jumped out of the red Mazda and fired several more shots through the driver’s window before hopping back into his getaway red Mazda 323 carrying a PCH identification plate.
Debideen was the lawyer who represented Hindu Credit Union president, Harry Harnarine, at the Commission of Enquiry into CLICO and the HCU.
