POLICE INVESTIGATING ABUSE AT ST MICHAEL’S SCHOOL FOR BOYS

C De Couteau2The Ministry of Gender Youth and Child Development has said it has taken action to address the complaints of abuse by three young boys who were residents of the St. Michael’s School for Boys.

The boys who ran away from the home on 23 April 2014 spoke about their abuse on a television program.

A release from the Ministry said it contacted the Commissioner of Police who assured that the matter is being investigated.

Minister of Gender, Youth and Child Development, Clifton De Coteau has requested a report on the incident from the school and the Ministry will be meeting with the Board of Management of the institution.

The Ministry added the boys will be placed in another facility while investigations are ongoing.
