Over 700 police officers have been exposed to extensive training in dealing with domestic violence situations.
Some citizens have complained about what they describe as the lukewarm response displayed by some officers when incidents of domestic abuse have been reported to the police.
However, Head of the Victim and Witness Support Unit, Margaret Sampson Browne, in a News Power Now interview said the aim is to allow all officers who enter the service to benefit from professional training in addressing domestic violence cases.
Mrs Sampson Browne also extended an invitation to both victims and perpetrators of domestic violence to access the various systems in place- systems that can assist them.
