There have been calls for more investigations to be done into police brutality.
There have been an increase in the number of police shootings and the association has acknowledged that the reputation of the service is under fire.
General Secretary of the Police Service Social and Welfare Association, Acting Inspector Michael Seales has stated that the perception the public may have of the police as blood thirsty and trigger happy is incorrect.
President of the PSSWA Inspector, Anand Ramesar, has also called for the public’s corporation with the service in carrying out their duties.
Mr Ramesar explained that the jobs of the policemen have become increasingly difficult which made it all the more necessary for them to have public trust.
