Eye-on-Crime-logo-small-2The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) conducted overnight anti-crime operations that resulted several arrests.

According to police reports, at approximately 4:15 a.m. on Tuesday, a Special Reserve Officer attached to the Crime Protection Unit was at his home when he heard several loud explosions outside.

The officer went outside and found several spent shells on the roadway in front his home. A report was made to the Central Police Station.

Officers responded and found on the scene nine (9) spent shells and one (1) live round of 9mm ammunition.

In more news of crime, at 6:20 a.m. Police Officers from the Besson Street Police Station and Officers from the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment (TTR) responded to a report of a shooting in the Eastern Quarry area.

A search of the area was conducted and Officers found and seized one (1) HK 9mm pistol along with two (2) magazines and twenty-six (26) rounds of 9mm ammunition.

In another incident, during the period 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. a party of Officers attached to the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Strike Team conducted an exercise in the Besson Street District.

During the exercise, a search warrant was executed at the home of a thirty-one (31) year old man of St. Barbs, Laventille.

In the presence of the man, Officers conducted a search of the premises and found and seized two (2) grams of marijuana.

The man was arrested and charged for possession of marijuana.

Also around 1:15 p.m. the same party of officers conducted a search of a bushy area located at the same address where they found and seized one (1) AK 47 rifle along with a magazine and twenty-five (25) rounds of 7.62 ammunition.
