POLICE REQUEST DNA SAMPLES

Pastor Vishnu “Kitty” Lutchmansingh

The relatives of Pastor Vishnu “Kitty” Lutchmansingh have been requested by Homicide Investigations Bureau detectives for blood samples to determine via DNA testing, whether or not the charred remains found in the pastor’s burnt house were really his.

Police ordered the funeral and cremation of the remains to be put on hold pending further tests after an autopsy revealed that the person found among the burnt ruins of the pastor’s house was shot in an area of the back, which effectively rules out suicide.

It was initially believed that the pastor – who was out on bail for multiple fraud charges – shot dead his brother Kishan last Monday, then went to his Las Lomas No 1 home where he set fire to the building and committed suicide by shooting himself.

The charred remains which were first thought to be that of Pastor Lutchmansingh, remain under tight security at David Guide’s Funeral Home in Couva.
