Secretary of the Police Social and Welfare Association, Michael Seales, says the Association is disheartened that Police Commissioner, Dwayne Gibbs, has been visibly absent since the State of Emergency has been called.

Only yesterday, the Police Service Commission signaled its intention, to write Commissioner Gibbs and fellow Canadian Deputy, Jack Ewatski, for an explanation as to why they were both absent at the time a state of emergency was imposed.

In their absence, Deputy Commissioner Stephen Williams has been appointed by the Police Service.

Speaking on the matter today, Mr. Seales said during this time Commissioner Gibbs should have been leading the force by giving a calculated plan on crime prevention and crime protection.
