Political Analyst Rishi Maharaj says putting the country’s interest first must be the basis to ensure success following recent discussions between the labour movement and government.
The two sides met last week Wednesday and agreed to meet again on September 13th to continue their deliberations.
A decision has been by the labour movement to leave the social dialogue arrangement which also includes government and employers.
It claimed that the move was taken due to what it describes as workers being made to feel the brunt of the economic slowdown.
Mr. Maharaj in a News Power Now interview yesterday said meaningful work after the discussion, is critical.
He added that the longer it takes for normalcy to return to the National Tripartite Advisory Council, unease will be felt in the country.
