Port-of-Spain Mayor Gives Thumbs Up to Carnival Proposals. Reveals Plan to Deal with Traffic Woes.

Port of Spain Mayor, Joel Martinez, says he is in support of various proposals relating to Carnival 2020.

The recommendations came out of a stakeholders’ meeting of the National Carnival Commission today.

It was held at the Queen’s Park Savannah. During the meeting, Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffith, highlighted several measures, among them, a ban on the use of glass bottles.

The issue of members and supporters of J’ouvert bands defacing people’s properties was also discussed.

Speaking with News Power Now on Wednesday afternoon, Mayor Martinez commented further.

He then spoke about the plans for addressing traffic congestion during the festive period.
