POS General Hospital staff protest poor working conditions and lack of food in kitchen area

Nurses attached to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital staged a placard protest in front of the emergency entrance, today, in light of what they describe as a lack of proper conditions in the kitchen area.

News Power Now understands that some 50 members of the kitchen staff were upset with the lack of food in the dispensary and a lack of utensils and equipment which were not functioning.

Chief Executive Officer of the North West Regional Health Authority, Sheldon Cyrus told us the issue is being resolved, in the interest of the patients. A general meeting was in progress up to a short while ago.
